Ahead of the official release of Kagurabachi chapter 40, spoilers surfaced online to reveal the content of the upcoming installment. The spoilers for Kagurabachi chapter 40, titled “A Fraction,” were recently released, and it didn’t disappoint.
The chapter picks up from where the previous one left off, with Kyora bleeding out due to Chihiro’s attack. Kyora then prepares to show the power of the enchanted blade. However, Chihiro senses danger and immediately uses Huro on the ground to try to get to Kyora.
Following this, the chapter shows a flashback, with Shiba suspecting that the Shinuchi blade was auctioned for the Kamunabi to buy it. Since they had tried to steal the blade, they needed its power and had to kill its original user first. However, the original user was locked away safely by the Kamunabi’s highest authorities. Shiba claims that if the blade were to fall into the Kamunabi’s hands, it would cause internal strife, giving the Hishaku the perfect chance to end the user’s life.
The protagonist then remembers his father’s words about the Shinuchi being an aberrant, which is why it is more guarded than the other Enchanted Blades. The chapter further reveals that Chihiro has never seen the box inside.
According to the spoilers, one must have the right biometric signature to release the seals the Kamunabi had set. However, Chihiro believes it is possible to release the seal by analyzing its formula. While Shiba praises the plan, he reveals it would take an experienced sorcerer at least ten years.
Kagurabachi chapter 40 Spoilers: Kyora is used as a Guinea pig
Elsewhere, the Hishaku leader is seen conversing with someone in private. He reveals that he put everything into opening the Shinuchi box in three years. The partner asks if it is okay to let Kyora use the blade. However, he clarifies that there is a risk to using the blade when the original user is still alive. This means Kyora was used as a guinea pig to see if he could draw out Shinuchi’s power.
Following the revelation, the chapter returns to Kyora and Chihiro. The latter is stunned by Kyora’s sudden appearance. His right eye is darkened as he stands lifeless, carrying the unsheathed Shinichi blade. However, his condition worsens as blood begins to drop from his eyes, and he begins to chant Magatsumi.
A whirlpool of blood appears under Kyora’s feet, and mysterious flowers start to bloom subsequently. Suddenly, a giant butterfly flies toward the blade and transforms into a large bloody figure, after which Kyora reveals that he is unable to unsheath Shinichi.
Meanwhile, Chihiro is stunned by Kyora’s shocking appearance as the latter charges at him with the sheathed blade. Chihiro dodges, realizing the blade can still cut in that form. Elsewhere, Hakuri is seen overwhelmed by the strain of using the storehouse for a long time. The spoilers end by highlighting Hiyuki’s appearance.
