I-Land 2 finale recap

The grand finale of I-Land 2 lived up to the fans’ expectations, where two teams, “Drip” and “Fake It,” competed to snag their places in the winners’ lineup. In the first group, Jeemin had the center part, Jiyoon was the main vocalist, Koko was the main rapper, and Yuju and Gyuri took parts 4 and 5.

However, Blackpink’s famous producer Teddy’s new song, “Drip,” became a hurdle for the I-Landers, especially Jiyoon, who had to adapt to the highly energetic beats. But after trial and error, the team’s final performance impressed the judges. Mnet producer 24 mentioned that the track would be stuck in his head owing to the rookies’ unforgettable stage.

Meanwhile, the second team found the song, “Fake It,” much more manageable for their practice session. In this group, Saebi took the center role, Jungeun was the main vocalist, Sarang was the main rapper, and Fuko and Mai got parts 4 and 5.

After the interim test, Fuko and Jungeun interchanged a specific part as judges found that the former’s pronunciation could be problematic in the final performance. Ultimately, the change of parts worked out in their favor as the team flawlessly executed the new song, stunning the live audience.

After the two groups’ stages, all I-Land 2 finalists showed a few surprises they had prepared, including awarding Mnet’s producers unique titles and a group stage for “IWALY” (I Will Always Love You).
