Will a Friends Reunion movie happen post Matthew Perry’s demise?

A Friends Reunion movie or show is unlikely to happen, as creator Marta Kauffman had earlier dismissed the possibility. And now, after Matthew Perry’s demise, the chances have further reduced.

In a past conversation with Deadline, Kauffman revealed that they don’t look forward to a reunion or reboot in the future. This is because the show had already reached a satisfactory ending and they didn’t want to spoil it. She explained, “We will not be doing a reunion show, we will not be doing a reboot. The show was about that time in life when friends are your family. It’s not going to beat what we did.”

Previously in a Variety interview, Jennifer Aniston, who plays Rachel in Friends, also presented her take on why a reunion movie didn’t happen. She explained that despite the fans’ and cast’s desire, the producers didn’t greenlight it. “Because our producers wouldn’t want it, wouldn’t let us. Look, it’s not been without our desire to, because our fans have wanted it so much,” she added. Following Kauffman and Aniston’s comments, the possibility of a Friends reunion movie remains uncertain for now.

Will the original Friends cast return for a Friends Reunion movie?

The possibility of the original cast members of Friends returning for a reunion remains thin as the project itself is unlikely to happen.

Previously, Aniston and Lisa Kudrow (Phoebe Buffay) expressed their enthusiasm for a reunion movie. Both the actresses termed a potential reunion idea as “fun,” The Direct reported. However, they are aware that the reunion chances are slim.
