In April 2015, authorities arrested Russell Taylor and charged him with nine felonies related to child pornography. Several reports stated that he worked as the executive director at the Jared Foundation, a non-profit organization set up by Jared Fogle. Investigators also discovered that Taylor helped Fogle in several heinous crimes related to child abuse and child sex tourism charges. Subsequently, Taylor pleaded guilty to multiple counts of felonies and was sent to jail. The court sentenced him to 27 years in prison.

According to Newsweek, Russell Taylor pleaded guilty to 12 counts of sexual exploitation and one count of receipt and distribution of child pornography. Upon his arrest, Taylor opened up about his involvement in the crime and revealed why he helped Jared Fogle. Citing his statements, Newsweek mentioned that Fogle told Taylor to reposition the nanny cams in his home. The outlet reported that Fogle advised him to do that so that he could film children and teens while bathing or nude. Moreover, the court documents stated how Fogle wanted Taylor to set him up with minors.

Meanwhile, the FBI noted that Russell Taylor, along with his wife Angela Baldwin, worked with Jared Fogle “to produce, possess, and distribute child sexual abuse material.” Per the court documents, Taylor and Baldwin shared the explicit material with each other, Fogle, and others. Initially, the court sentenced Taylor to 25 years in prison for child pornography.

However, in 2020, a judge overturned his conviction because the defense failed to challenge three charges. Associated Press reported that the facts of the case did not back the charges. As a result, Taylor went to trial again and pleaded guilty to 24 counts of “producing child sexual abuse material” and other offenses. The court then sentenced Taylor to 27 years in prison.

Where is Russell Taylor now?

After the court sentenced Russell Taylor to 27 years in prison, other people involved in the case also received punishment. According to the FBI, Russell Taylor’s wife, Angela Baldwin, received a sentence of 33 years in prison. She is currently serving her sentence at FMC Carswell in Fort Worth, Texas. Meanwhile, Taylor’s current whereabouts remain undisclosed.

The investigation of the case began in 2014 when one of Taylor’s acquaintances contacted the authorities. FBI mentioned that the person claimed that Russel Taylor told her about the child sexual abuse material. Subsequently, authorities searched Taylor and Baldwin’s house and discovered several items related to child pornography. The duo pleaded guilty to multiple charges and was sent to prison. Meanwhile, Jared Fogle, the Subway Guy, also pleaded guilty to child sex crimes and was sentenced to 15 years in prison.

Investigation Discovered released the documentary Jared From Subway: Catching a Monster in March 2023. The documentary explores the heinous crimes committed by Fogle, Taylor, and Angela Baldwin and is available for streaming on Investigation Discovery and Max.
