As of June 2024, the Wind Breaker manga is still currently ongoing.

Wind Breaker is an action and adventure manga series by Satoru Nii. Kodansha began serializing the manga on their Magazine Pocket website in January 2021. Meanwhile, Kodansha USA is in charge of the English and North American publishing of the series. The manga currently has 17 volumes in Japanese, while there are 15 digital volumes in English.

CloverWorks is in charge of the anime adaptation. The anime was part of the spring 2024 lineup. After the last episode of the first season aired, the staff announced that a second season was coming in 2025. The anime is available to stream on Crunchyroll.

Toshifumi Akai (Fate/Grand Order Absolute Demonic Front: Babylonia, The Idolmaster) is directing the series. Hiroshi Seko (Dorohedoro, Jujutsu Kaisen) is in charge of the series composition. Meanwhile, Ryo Takahashi (Sk8 the Infinity, High Card) is composing the music. There is no available information about the staff for the second season as of writing, however.

The official synopsis of Wind Breaker from Kodansha reads:

“Haruka Sakura wants nothing to do with weaklings—he’s only interested in the strongest of the strong. He’s from Fuurin High School, a school of near-dropout degenerates known only for their brawling strength. And in a town known for its territorial disputes, Haruka’s got only one goal—become the hero his town deserves.”
