Earlier this year Dr. Jennifer Ashton announced that she would be leaving ABC, after being with the network for 13 years. Before her co-hosts could bid farewell on June 27, she recently opened up about why she is leaving. As her dedicated viewers and followers are all curious to know the reason behind her decision, letâs take a look at why Dr. Jennifer Ashton is leaving GMA.
Why is Dr. Jennifer Ashton leaving GMA after 13 years?
Dr. Jennifer Ashton will be leaving GMA to focus on her new business venture.
In April this year, Dr. Jennifer Ashton announced on her show that she would be parting ways with Good Morning America and ABC. When asked by her co-host, DeMarco Morgan, about âwhatâs next,â she spoke about her new business venture, which leans more towards her âmedical professional passions.â She continued to explain the reason for her exit by saying, âI really wanted to devote a hundred percent of my bandwidth to launching this new company.â
The aforementioned company seems to be focused on information, content, community, and symptom relief related to womenâs health. As of now, it has launched a free newsletter called Ajenda. Ashton further explains, âI think there is a massive need now for womenâs health, information, and communication, and people can go to joinagenda.com to follow what other things Iâll be doing.â
A few days ago, she appeared on The View and once again opened up in much more detail about leaving. She mentions how she was on air 805 times last year and humorously added that sheâs also âlooking forward to sleeping past 4 or 5 in the morning.â Further details about Dr. Jennifer Ashtonâs new business venture will eventually come out via her newsletter Ajenda.
