Nancy Pelosi’s Daughter: Who Is Alexandra Pelosi?

Former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s daughter, Alexandra Pelosi, created the 2022 HBO documentary Pelosi in the House. The documentary footage that Alexandra submitted to HBO is now at the center of controversy. Reportedly, the House Administration Subcommittee obtained footage from the television network in which Pelosi stated, “I take responsibility” for the Capitol’s security failures on January 6, 2021.

Nancy Pelosi’s daughter, Alexandra Pelosi, shot the documentary in cinéma vérité style, capturing the congresswoman’s life. Pelosi in the House comprises some sit-down interviews with the former House Speaker. It follows her through the halls of Congress as the first and only female speaker while she engages in household chores like laundry. Before that, Alexandra, an acclaimed Emmy-nominated documentarian, covered President George W. Bush’s campaign. She turned it into a film, Journeys with George, which premiered in 2002.

The recent controversy surrounding Nancy Pelosi arises from her daughter’s documentary footage. New York Post reported that Alexandra shot the footage on January 6, 2021, in which Pelosi told her chief of staff, Terri McCullough, “We have responsibility, Terri.” She added, “We did not have any accountability for what was going on there, and we should have. This is ridiculous.”

Alexandra Pelosi’s other popular documentaries include The Insurrectionist Next Door, Fall to Grace, and more.

The outlet stated that Alexandra married Dutch journalist Michiel Vos in June 2005. Vos also appeared in Alexandra’s 2011 HBO documentary Citizen U.S.A., which premiered in 2011 on HBO. Vos is one of the many immigrant-turned-American citizens. The documentary chronicled swearing-in ceremonies in each state.

Alexandra Pelosi is also a mother of two children, who she welcomed with her husband, Michiel Vos. Their two sons are Paul and Thomas. Moreover, the couple has revealed that Vos became a naturalized American citizen after their sons were born. The film chronicles the January 6, 2021, riot at the U.S. Capitol and features interviews with rioters who stormed it. Additionally, according to another People Magazine report, it marked Alexandra Pelosi’s 15th HBO documentary.

She talked to many individuals who stormed the Capitol “through a series of candid interviews conducted over the last two years.” Some rioters even faced criminal charges “for their participation in the unprecedented events of the day.”

On the day of the riot, Alexandra Pelosi was also inside the U.S. Capitol. She later interviewed several rioters, asking them crucial questions about the incident. During one interview, she asked a rioter how they broke into the Capitol, and the individual replied, “I just walked right in.” The clip was a part of the documentary’s trailer.
