Kim Taehyung, aka BTS V, has teased his upcoming photo book release, Type 1, which will come in two versions. BigHit Music, BTS’ label, has shared the photo book’s pre-order updates, release date, and more details.
With the first announcement, V kept the Type 1 project in mystery. The only clue that the upcoming release would be a photobook was the lyrics from “Scenery” that the poster featured.
Hours after the initial poster, the official BTS page confirmed that Type 1 is a photobook that reveals a side of V that fans often don’t get to see. The 28-year-old singer brings a more relaxed and comfortable side of himself with the new project.

The song struck a chord with fans. V later explained why including photography in his first solo song was essential. The BTS singer shared in the Break The Silence documentary, “The way I look at the world when I take photos, the people I see through the lens, the scenery, the streets, and the sky, I wanted to write about what those things mean to me.”
Years after V’s wish to release a photo album, BTS ARMY will finally get to see this side of the singer. The collection will drop on July 9, a day significant as it is considered as BTS ARMY’s official birthday.
