The Player 2: Master of Swindlers Episode 7 Recap & Spoilers

The Player 2: Master of Swindlers episode 7 aired on Monday, June 25, 2024, on tvN and Viki. Starring Song Seung-Heon in the lead role, the latest episode of the action-crime K-drama focuses on Lee Soo-Hyuk playing a negative role as David Myeong.

In the previous episode, Kang Ha-Ri tried to meet David Myeong, a rich businessman who has committed real estate fraud. Finally, Ha-Ri arrived at a secluded location to meet Myeong but found the latter’s subordinate. The swindler turned the table when Jung Soo-Min entered Myeong’s office and forced a direct conversation.

The new episode 7 begins with Myeong smirking at Ha-Ri’s move. Meanwhile, a man appears outside with a gun, wondering if he can kill Ha-Ri or not. Prosecutor Do-Soo quietly brings him into the van, where Jin-Woong and Byung-Min are listening to Ha-Ri and Myeong’s conversation. Do-Soo becomes furious at Ha-Ri after learning that the latter used the unknown man’s money in the case.

What happened in The Player 2: Master of Swindlers episode 7?

In The Player 2: Master of Swindlers episode 7, Soo-Min cuts Myeong and Ha-Ri’s call and asks the former to follow her. She stops her car in a quiet place and shows multiple bags of cash worth 20 billion won. Soo-Min pretends she wants to betray her boss, Ha-Ri, and gives the money to Myeong. The latter finds it fishy and takes her hostage. Also, he lets his subordinate bring Ha-Ri to him.

For context, Myeong doesn’t know the swindler’s true identity. He thinks Ha-Ri is a businessman like him who scams people for money. When he threatens Ha-Ri with Soo-Min, he explains that he doesn’t believe in Ha-Ri’s schemes. Ha-Ri continues to convince Myeong that his villa auction deal is not fake, but the latter senses lies. Then, he orders his men to kill Ha-Ri and Soo-Min. Fortunately, the swindlers’ team and prosecutor Do-Soo arrive on time.

Instead of going after Myeong, Do-Soo arrests Ha-Ri on fraud charges, leaving the swindlers’ team in shock. It appears the latter has broken his team’s rules by scamming people for real. However, he manages to flee and run after Myeong while Do-Soo arrests the rest of the team members. Later, Soo-Min lets the president talk to Do-Soo, who becomes shocked to learn that she and Ha-Ri work under him. Soon, they all figure out Ha-Ri’s plan and why he intentionally put his life in danger.

Meanwhile, Ha-Ri succeeds in making Myeong fall into his trap.

The Player 2: Master of Swindlers’ episode 7 further shows Myeong learning that he has been scammed. Finally, prosecutor Do-Soo understands Ha-Ri’s plan and arrests Myeong. However, on the way to the police station, the latter gets a call, and then he takes a pill. Within a few minutes, he dies.

It turns out Jeffrey Jung is the one who called Myeong. For context, he is a high-profile drug dealer and gangster who killed Ah-Ryung in episode 1. Since the beginning, Ha-Ri and his team have wanted to avenge her death. They have come closer to their goal, but every time Jeffrey gets farther. Amid the chaos, President Choi Sang-Ho keeps an eye on Ha-Ri through hidden cameras.

Episode 7 then introduces a new character, Lim Sang-Sik. He is a cult leader who runs the “Almighty House of Truth” and scams people. Soo-Min presents the new target to Ha-Ri and his team. She explains Sang-Sik’s crimes and how he is surrounded by convicts to protect him. Soo-Min also mentions that the cult leader might be into organ trafficking and assaulting young girls.

The episode ends with Ha-Ri making his first move towards his new target. Will he succeed this time? To watch what happens in episode 8, tune in to tvN on Tuesday, June 25, 2024, at 8:50 p.m. KST. The Player 2: Master of Swindlers also streams on Viki.
