The Foo Fighters and Taylor Swift are both currently on concert tours and on the evening of June 22, they both performed live at different venues in London. During the Foo Fighters show at London Stadium, Dave Grohl made some comments that involved Swiftâs ongoing Eras Tour. So, what did Dave Grohl say?
Hereâs everything you need to know about what Dave Grohl had to say about Taylor Swift and The Eras Tour.
What did Dave Grohl say about Taylor Swift during the Foo Fightersâ tour?
Dave Grohl compared the Foo Fighterâs current tour with Taylor Swiftâs Eraâs Tour and appeared to imply that Swift does not really perform live.
During a June 22Â performance at London Stadium, Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl acknowledged that Taylor Swift was playing Wembley Stadium in the same city that night. He then made a lighthearted comparison between the two tours, stating, âI tell you, man, you donât want to suffer the wrath of Taylor Swift.â He continued, âSo we like to call our tour the âErrors Tour.â Weâve had more than a few eras, and more than a few f***ing errors as well. Just a couple,â as per Pop Base on X (formerly Twitter).
Further, in what seems like an implication that Swift doesnât perform live, he said, âThatâs because we actually play live. What? Just saying. You guys like raw, live rock ânâ roll music, right? You came to the right f***ing place.â
The motive behind Grohlâs comments is unknown. However, Swift possibly replied to Grohl during her show at Wembley the next night, on Sunday. According to The Independent, she stated, âWhat you just did is an unforgettable moment in not just my life, but every very single one of our crew. The band thatâs going to be playing live for you for three and a half hours tonight.â
Swift continued, âThey deserve this so much and so does every one of my fellow performers, and you just gave that to us so generously. Weâll never forget it.â
In 2015, Swift and Grohl of the Foo Fighters crossed paths at BBC Radio 1âs Big Weekend in Norwich. Swift performed a 45-minute set before the Foo Fightersâ headlining performance. Interestingly, Grohlâs comments about Swift at the time appeared to be more complimentary. According to the BBC, Grohl said, âIâm officially obsessed, she might want to get a restraining order.â In a closing tribute to Swift, the artist said, âMy kids will kill me for saying this, but this one is dedicated to Taylor Swift,â before launching into their final song, âBest of You.â
The Foo Fighters have been traveling across the United States and the United Kingdom to perform as part of their Everything Or Nothing at All Tour since May 1. This tour began in support of their eleventh studio album, But Here We Are, which came out in June 2023.
