The Boys Season 4: Why Did Frenchie Kill Colin’s Family?

The Boys Season 4 introduces Colin Hauser (Elliot Knight), a potential new love interest for Frenchie (Tomer Capone). However, it is soon revealed that Frenchie killed Colin’s family in the past, making a rift between them inevitable. Now, the viewers want to know why Frenchie killed Colin’s parents and sister.

Here is what we think were Frenchie’s reasons for murdering Colin’s family.

Why did Frenchie kill Colin’s family in The Boys Season 4?

As of Season 4 Episode 4, The Boys hasn’t clarified Frenchie’s reasons for killing Colin’s family. Although, given what we know about Frenchie’s past, we can theorize on what might have happened.

Before becoming part of The Boys, Frenchie used to work for Little Nina, AKA Nina Namenko, a Russian mob boss and drug dealer who the audience meets in Season 3. In Season 4 Episode 4, Colin reveals to Frenchie that his mother was a federal judge who dealt with violent crime. At one point, she went after a faction of the Russian mafia operating out of Brighton Beach, which was led by a woman.

This was likely Nina, who then sent Frenchie to kill the judge and her family to make an example out of her. He first murdered Colin’s parents, before killing his younger sister. As Colin narrates this story, he doesn’t realize that he is speaking to his family’s murderer.

How does Colin find out about Frenchie’s truth in The Boys?

At the time his family was killed, Colin was at home and the sounds of gunshots woke him up. He hid under his bed when the killer came his way and only saw the person’s ankle, which had burn scars. In Season 4 Episode 4, Frenchie finally tells Colin the truth and shows him his scars.

Predictably, Colin’s response is that of shock, anger, and violence. He attacks Frenchie and tries to choke him to death. Already drowning in his guilt, the latter doesn’t do anything to stop him and even encourages him to do it. However, Colin ultimately stands back up, warns Frenchie that he will kill him if he comes near him again, and leaves.
