Disney+ K-Drama Red Swan: Release Date, Cast & Trailer

Disney+ is bringing a brand new K-drama, Red Swan, which is all set to release on Wednesday, July 3, 2024. The series features many popular cast members, including Kim Ha-Neul and Rain, who are playing the leading roles. It documents the story of a woman who turns her life around to become the best golf player and marry into a rich family. Just when she achieves success working for the wealthy family’s conglomerate, her bodyguard brings her a secret about the family. 

Kim Ha-Neul plays the role of the central character, a woman named Oh Wan-Soo. Meanwhile, Rain plays her bodyguard, Seo Do-Yoon. Red Swan K-drama is one of the most anticipated works of the year, given its storyline and characters. Park Hong-Kyun of A Korean Odyssey, Warm and Cozy, and The Greatest Love helms the series. Meanwhile, Choi Yoon-Jung serves as the writer. 

Disney+ K-drama Red Swan: When Is the release date?

Disney+ K-Drama Red Swan will be released on Wednesday, July 3, 2024, on Disney Plus. The series will release two episodes every Wednesday. While the time hasn’t been announced, the streaming platform will likely follow its regular schedule for the Korean original series. Thus, viewers can expect the episodes to drop at 4 p.m. KST. The drama will run for a total of 10 episodes, keeping viewers hooked on the story. 

Red Swan K-drama cast: Kim Ha-Neul, Rain & more

The upcoming Disney+ K-drama Red Swan boasts a star-studded cast list. Kim Ha-Neul and Rain are playing the lead roles in the series. Kim Ha-Neul plays Oh Wan-Soo, the central character, while Rain plays her bodyguard, Seo Do-Yeon. Other cast members include Jung Gyu-Woon, Seo Yi-Sook, Yoon Je-Moon, Ki Eun-Se, Shin Soo-Jung, Jung Joo-Yeon, and Go Yoon. 

Seo Yi-Sook essays the role of Park Mi-Ran, the matriarch of the elite Hwain family. Jung Gyu-Woon plays Kim Yong-Guk, the heir of Hwain Group and Oh Wan-Soo’s husband. Yoon Je-Moon plays Han Sang-Il, the conglomerate’s legal representative. These supporting characters will also add to the storyline as the drama revolves around this elite family. 

Red Swan trailer & plot

Red Swan follows Oh Wan-Soo’s rags-to-riches story. To break off from her poverty-stricken life, she works hard to become a successful golf player. To live an elite life, she marries Kim Yong-Guk, the heir to the conglomerate Hwain Group. Soon, Wan-Soo gains popularity as the chairperson of the group’s foundation, and she is well-known for her charity work.

With popularity comes a lot of power. So Wan-Soo appoints Seo Do-Yoon as her bodyguard. He excels in martial arts and is a graduate of the police university. However, Do-Yoon harbors a secret about the family, which leads him to join their security team. As he unveils the secret, Do-Yoon also ensures to protect Wan-Soo from danger. 

The trailer documents the contrast between the luxurious life inside the Hwain Group and murder and danger on the outside. Wan-Soo heads the NOW Foundation and leads a successful life. However, her life turns upside down with the arrival of Seo Do-Yoon as her bodyguard. He comes with clear intentions to investigate the death of his dear friend, which has something to do with the conglomerate and its people. 

Do-Yoon informs Wan-Soo that someone tried to kill her, warning her that they might try again. He further reveals that the killers are now after the NOW foundation, as it majorly controls the conglomerate’s future. In a car chase scene, Do-Yoon rescues her even when he gets injured. Gradually, Wan-Soo begins uncovering the family’s secret, resulting in a fallout with the matriarch, Park Ri-An. 

Meanwhile, Do-Yoon realizes that the person who attacked Wan-Soo previously also killed his friend. This only makes him more determined to complete his mission and unveil the truth. At the end of the trailer, Do-Yoon pledges to protect Wan-Soo when threats loom around her.
