As The Boys has returned to Amazon Prime Video for the fourth season, the viewers are once again concerned whether their favorite characters will survive this time around. Hughie Campbell (Jack Quaid) is one of the main characters in the show. At the start of the series, he loses his girlfriend because of a Supe’s mistake and becomes radicalized. For the first time in his life, Hughie sees the superheroes for the apathetic narcissists that they are and joins the eponymous vigilante group. Like any other character in the series, Hughie’s life is in perpetual danger. So, the viewers are rightfully wondering whether he dies in the season. Here is what we have discovered on whether the events in season 4 lead to Hughie’s death or he manages to survive.
Does Hughie die in The Boys Season 4?
By the end of episode 3, Hughie is alive and physically healthy. However, that came pretty close to not being the case. Homelander realized that Hughie was secretly listening to his conversation with Sister Sage and Victoria Neuman and tried to kill him with his heat ray. Fortunately for Hughie, A-Train, whose struggles with himself continue this season, saves him from dying at the hands of an increasingly unstable Homelander. The entire ordeal forces Hughie to re-evaluate his relationship with his mother and finally have a candid conversation with her.
In episode 3, Homelander makes it clear to Neuman that he wants her to publicly admit that she is a Supe. He seems to have certain plans for the future, which include planting a Supe at the Oval Office. Neuman’s secret is the very thing that Hughie and the rest of The Boys are using to blackmail her. Given that Hughie is the only obstacle preventing Homelander from getting what he wants, it’s safe to speculate that he will come after Hughie again this season.
