In a 2021 interview with Today, Alan Jackson revealed that he was diagnosed with a genetic disease called Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease. He inherited the ailment from his father. Jackson told the outlet, “I have this neuropathy and neurological disease.”
Moreover, Jackson admitted that “there’s no cure” for the disease and it is becoming more noticeable with time. He further divulged about the problems he is facing while performing, saying that he is “stumbling around on stage.” The singer conveyed, “I’m having a little trouble balancing, even in front of the microphone.”
In 2024, the country music sensation is back to give his fans a musical treat one last time. In a statement on his website, Alan Jackson announced the renewal of his Last Call: One More for the Road tour with tickets going on sale on June 7.
Alan Jackson said in the statement, “My fans always show up to have a good time, and I’m going to give them the best show I can for this Last Call.” Jackson also gave his fans an update about his whereabouts, stating, “I’ve been touring for over 30 years – my daughters are all grown, we have one grandchild and one on the way…and I’m enjoying spending more time at home.”
Alan Jackson’s tour will commence this year and will culminate in 2025. Per his website, Jackson’s tour will set off on August 2, with the Summertime Blues singer set to journey through a total of ten cities.
