Mammootty is all set to shine on the silver screens in his new action movie Turbo. The movie is just a day away from its release and is widely discussed among the fans of Malayalam superstars. He will play a Jeep driver named Jose in the film. While fans are excited to watch the movie soon, many wonder if it is based on a true story.
The makers of Turbo have spilt several beans on the film’s plot. Its trailer confirmed that the film will be filled with action and drama. Not only it has a charming protagonist, but the movie’s villain is also a powerful one, played by Raj B Shetty. While the movie’s drama seems intense, Mammootty has confirmed that it will be entertaining for the audience.
What is Mammootty’s Turbo based on?
Ahead of Turbo’s release, the makers of the movie have held several events to talk about it. During one of the conferences, Mammootty talked about the movie’s plot and teased many details. According to Onmanorama, the actor revealed that the movie is based on a real scam.
He said “Turbo’ narrates the experiences of two individuals and portrays a real scam. Such scams often happen, but we seldom hear about them.” He added, “The movie is about an unintentional mistake made by Jose, who is not a mass hero but an innocent person. He is a simpleton who interferes in everything without considering the consequences. In certain circumstances, people draw strength from unexpected sources, and Jose experiences such strength, which you could call ‘Turbo.'”
Helmed by Vysakh, Mammootty Kampany is bankrolling it. It is allegedly the most expensive movie of Mammootty’s career. Turbo is arriving in the theaters on May 23, 2024.
