At the premiere of his upcoming movie IF, Steve Carell revealed his thoughts on returning for the reboot of The Office, which will soon begin filming. Carell played the lead character, Michael Scott, in the original series of the long-running American sitcom for seven seasons. When asked if he would make an appearance in the reboot, Carell had a clear and straightforward answer.

While speaking about the reboot of The Office, Steve Carell stated that he will be watching the show but definitely āwonāt be showing up.ā Revealing the reason, Carell said, āItās just a new thing and thereās really no reason for my character to show up in something like that, but Iām excited about it, it sounds like a great conceit.ā
He further praised Domhnall Gleeson, who will be playing one of the leads in the new reboot series. āI worked with Domhnall Gleesonā¦I did The Patient with him, heās an excellent actor and a super nice guy so I think itāll be great,ā Carell said, adding that the show is āfor sureā in good hands.

The untitled reboot will be a mockumentary series taking place in the same universe as The Office. Its creators are Greg Daniels and Michael Koman. Additionally, Sabrina Impacciatore will play a lead role in the reboot alongside Domhnall Gleeson.
