That Christmas Release Date Rumors: When Is It Coming Out?

In November 2019, a film adaptation of Curtis’s books went into development at Locksmith Animation under the title The Empty Stocking. Fox and Warner Bros. Pictures were attached to the project as distributors at different points in time before Netflix secured the rights in June 2022.

Locksmith revealed Simon Otto’s involvement in the project as director in June 2021. The company also announced at the time that the upcoming film has a new title, That Christmas. The film is slated to premiere sometime in 2024. However, considering that it’s already late April, we can safely speculate that the release date of That Christmas will likely be in mid to late 2024.

This date is an estimation based on the information we have at the time of this writing.

The voice cast of That Christmas includes Brian Cox as Santa, Fiona Shaw as Ms. Trapper, Jodie Whittaker as Mrs. Williams, and Bill Nighy as Bill.
