Will There Be a Franklin Season 2 Release Date & Is It Coming Out?

Although Franklin has only just premiered its first season on Apple TV Plus, viewers of the new Michael Douglas series are asking if the streamer has renewed it for another season. Also if the Franklin Season 2 release date is on the anvil. Franklin is a biographical drama show about Benjamin Franklin, one of the Founding Fathers of the United States. The series primarily details Franklin’s eight years in France where he tried to convince King Louis XVI to support the US in the American Revolutionary War.

Here’s all we know about Franklin Season 2 and whether or not it’s coming out.

Is there a Franklin Season 2 release date?

There is no Franklin Season 2 release date as it is unlikely to happen.

Since Franklin has been billed as a miniseries on Apple TV Plus, a second season is unlikely to happen. Moreover, as is the case with many miniseries, the entire story is told in a limited number of episodes which eliminates the need for a new season.

If the makers of the show and Apple TV Plus change Franklin’s miniseries status or offer any updates about a second season and its possibility, then ComingSoon will provide information about the same.

Franklin’s cast includes Michael Douglas as Benjamin Franklin, Noah Jupe as Temple Franklin, and Daniel Mays as Edward Bancroft. It also stars Ludivine Sagnier as Madame Anne-Louise Brillon, and Thibault de Montalembert as Comte de Vergennes. Also featured are Assad Bouab as Beaumarchais, and Théodore Pellerin as Marquis de Lafayette.

Why Franklin Season 2 might not be happening anytime soon?

Franklin Season 2 probably isn’t coming out because as mentioned above the show has been billed as a miniseries that tells its story in a limited number of episodes.

Franklin’s first and only confirmed season will reportedly conclude on Friday, May 17, 2024.

The official synopsis for Franklin reads:

“In December 1776, Benjamin Franklin is world-famous for his electrical experiments. But his passion and power are put to the test when he embarks on a secret mission to France—with the fate of American independence hanging in the balance.”
