There are no mid-credits, post-credits, or end-credits scenes in Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire.
Post-credits scenes have almost become the norm for long-running franchises to set up future sequels. After the MCU turned them into an engaging trend, many other movie franchises have followed suit. However, Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire does not follow this pattern.
Godzilla x Kong does not feature any mid-credits or post-credits scenes. Additionally, no other scenes play during the end credits. Out of the four MonsterVerse movies before this new entry, only two included scenes beyond the credits.
Godzilla (2014) featured no post-credits scenes. However, there was one additional sequence at the end of Kong: Skull Island, which set up the next film in the franchise, Godzilla: King of the Monsters. Then, the Godzilla sequel also had a scene after the credits which provided a setup for Mechagodzilla’s arrival in Godzilla vs. Kong.
Following that, Godzilla vs. Kong dropped the post-credits scene rule and kept all the future setups before the credits. Now, Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire also follows the same pattern. Viewers can sit through the credits and go through the names of everyone who worked on the film while listening to the film’s score if they wish. However, don’t expect any additional footage after the initial or final credits.
