Created by Natasha Lyonne, Leslye Headland, and Amy Poehler, Russian Doll is a mystery comedy-drama series streaming on Netflix. The plot revolves around Nadia Vulvokov (Lyonne), who finds herself stuck in a time loop on her 36th birthday. The loop restarts every time she dies. Season 1 premiered on February 1, 2019, and Season 2 on April 20, 2022. If you are wondering about the prospects of season 3 of Russian Doll, this is what we have discovered.
Here’s all the Russian Doll Season 3 release date information we know so far, and all the details on when it is coming out.
Is there a Russian Doll Season 3 release date?
Russian Doll Season 3 does not have an official release date, but it can be announced in the future.
As of March 2024, Netflix hasn’t officially renewed Russian Doll for the third season. However, there have been conversations about it. Series co-creator Leslye Headland told Radio Times in 2019 that she and her partners approached Netflix with a three-season plan for the show. “We initially pitched it as three seasons,” she said.
“We came in with it as like, ‘Here’s the idea for season one, here’s the idea for season two, here’s the idea for season three’. So, I could definitely see us going back to one of those ideas,” she added.
In April 2022, after the release of the second season, Lyonne indicated to The Hollywood Reporter that they still had ideas to explore in the future chapters of Russian Doll. During her appearance on THR’s Awards Chatter podcast in October 2023, Lyonne said that the third season might happen in the future. “But I think it’s gonna take some time,” she added.
“I think that like, you know, it’s just like a crazy time in this business. I think, for me, my priority right now is directing a feature. A priority for me over a season three of Russian Doll. I think, also, now we’re on the kind of Poker Face (Peacock series) train,” Lyonne further stated.
The ending of season 2 is far from definitive and can serve as a launchpad for the third season. Considering all this, we can’t rule out the possibility of Russian Doll Season 3.
Besides Lyonne, the cast of Russian Doll includes Charlie Barnett as Alan Zaveri, Greta Lee as Maxine, Chloë Sevigny as Lenora Vulvokov, and Elizabeth Ashley as Ruth Brenner.
Where is Russian Doll Season 3 coming out?

ComingSoon will provide an update if and when Netflix officially announces the development of the third season.
