After rumors of an R-rated Venom movie possibly being made hit the internet, fans are wondering if there is any truth to them. Here is your answer.
Is an R-rated Venom movie being made?
An R-rated Venom movie is not confirmed to be in development as of writing. However, it is rumored to be happening according to a reputed industry insider.
According to scooper CanWeGetSomeToast, Sony Pictures has enlisted The Boys and Invincible producer Seth Rogen to write and produce an R-rated, animated Venom movie for them.
However, take this information with a pinch of salt as it is just a rumor. Furthermore, neither Sony nor Seth Rogen himself have confirmed their involvement in the making of an animated Venom film.
Although Seth Rogen has not yet been confirmed to make an R-rated Venom movie. He would no doubt be an excellent candidate to help helm the project.
This is because of his recent success with more violent and mature superhero-related projects such as The Boys and Invincible. Both series have been heralded by audiences and fans as some of the greatest comic book adaptations ever made.
Through these projects, Rogen has not held back in depictions of violence and gore. Characters in both shows are frequently fighting each other and spilling blood.
Moreover, through both these projects, as well as the recent Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem film, Rogen has shown impressive storytelling capabilities. He would likely be able to fully explore and showcase Venom’s immense penchant for violence. But on top of that, he would also be able to tell a rich story behind it.
Whether Seth Rogen is officially confirmed to take on the animated Venom project, or if the project is happening remains to be seen. ComingSoon will provide updates as and when new information comes along.
