Where was Road House 2024 filmed and set?
Most of Road House was filmed in the Dominican Republic. Parts of the film were also shot in Seven Mile Bridge, Marathon, Florida, and Las Vegas, Nevada.
As per The Independent, Chad Newman, the film commissioner, told Keynews.com that “Ninety-nine percent of the movie is filmed in DR.”
The Dominican Republic acted as the primary filming hub for Road House’s production. Therefore, the cast and crew mainly stayed on location here for the filming process, as per Screen Rant.
Moreover, cities in the Dominican Republic such as Santo Domingo and Punta Cana doubled as the Florida Keys for Road House’s story. The movie is set in Glass Key, a town that is part of the Florida Keys south of Marathon, Florida.
For Santo Domingo, shown at the end of the film, the production crew only took aerial shots of the place. This was because Jake Gyllenhaal did not travel to the Seven Mile Bridge to film the bus scenes depicted at the end of the film where Elwood Dalton was shown leaving Glass Key.
Jake Gyllenhaal, meanwhile, was the only leading cast member to travel to Las Vegas to film some crucial scenes for Road House. Here, Gyllenhaal and the production crew shot Elwood Dalton’s walkout and his fight against Jax “Jetway” Harris (Jay Hieron) for the flashback scenes.
