Has Henry Cavill been cast as Wolverine in the MCU?
After a scoop revealed Henry Cavill has been cast in the MCU, rumors suggest that he could be playing Wolverine. However, nothing is set in stone.
Talks of Henry Cavill joining the MCU have been going on for several years. There have been many fan castings over time. The rumor about one character that keeps coming back is Wolverine. Recently, MyTimeToShineHello revealed that Cavill had accepted an MCU role, and many fans guessed it could be Captain Britain. However, the scooper debunked it, stating that no one has been able to guess his role correctly.
Now, speculation is running rampant that he has been cast as a Wolverine variant after Giant Freakin Robot‘s scoop. It’s worth noting though that their exclusives often blow hot and cold. So at the moment, Cavill’s MCU casting scoops need to be taken with a grain of salt.
Will Henry Cavill replace Hugh Jackman as Wolverine?
Henry Cavill is not confirmed to replace Hugh Jackman as Wolverine in the MCU.
Currently, only Hugh Jackman is confirmed to play Logan in Deadpool & Wolverine. That being said, there have been other hints suggesting that Daniel Radcliffe could be the Patch variant of Wolverine in it. Whether that turns out to be true remains to be seen.
If the rumors about Cavill are true and he has taken on doing a Wolverine cameo, then he could also be the Patch Wolverine variant instead of Radcliffe. However, we’ll have to wait for an official confirmation before jumping the gun. For now, Henry Cavill’s casting as Wolverine to replace Hugh Jackman or simply make a cameo isn’t confirmed.
