Here’s Netflix’s The Gentlemen (2024) ending explained featuring spoilers about what happened in the show. Dive into our breakdown and find out who died, who survived, and who ended up owning the business in the end.
Who owns the business at the end of Netflix’s The Gentlemen (2024)?
Towards the end, Bobby Glass remains the owner of his weed empire. Eddie and Susie invest their money and other estate owners’ contributions to partially own it.
Throughout the series, Eddie and Susie face challenges but manage to come out on top every time. Near the end, the two feel betrayed and go behind each other’s backs. Bobby Glass decides to retire and sell his established cannabis empire.
So, Eddie and Susie unite to convince potential buyers to make the highest bid. Among the ones they sway are American billionaire Stanley Johnston, drug baroness Mercy, and scammer Sticky Pete.
Simultaneously, they accumulate £235 million to bid for the business themselves. Following that, they manipulate the bidding war by eliminating the other bidders.
While Stanley makes the biggest bid, Eddie and Susie get hold of his tax documents and alert the authorities. He gets taken in for tax evasion and no longer has enough money to beat the £235 million bid. Eddie and Susie then tell Mercy that Sticky Pete won the bid. Due to being afraid of her Colombian business partners, she kills Sticky Pete.
To take her down, Eddie and Susie send gangster Henry Collins after her. He kills her because he was promised a stake in the drug empire. With everyone out of the picture, the Duke and Susie take their bidding amount to Bobby Glass. The money gets invested into the business as Glass reveals that he never intended to sell the business. He just wanted them to work as a team again.
Now a partial owner and Susie’s partner, Eddie arranges for Collins to be taken into the woods. He shoots him in front of Susie for what he did to her brother. The show then ends with Stanley joining Bobby Glass in prison.
How does the finale set up season 2?
Working as a team, the Duke and Susie would now work together to take on new challenges while expanding their business.
Even though Eddie wanted him and his family to be out of the drug business, Freddy and others convinced him that he was born for it. In the end, Bobby was able to make a “Gentleman” out of him. Having made the Duke realize his potential, Bobby told him – “I don’t see a captain, I see a f**king general.”
Now with Eddie and Susie partnering up and trusting each other, Season 2 could explore their romance angle, which was teased throughout Season 1. Together, they’d also go up against new players who might want to compete with them or harm their business.
For now, Netflix is yet to renew the series. Comingsoon will update the story once that happens.
