The early Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire box office prediction is in. Those who wish to find out about the initial projections and box office potential this film holds could check out the following analysis. Find out if the movie will flop or succeed.
How much is Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire predicted to make at the box office?
Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire is reportedly projected to earn $35 million to $49 million within the first 3 days at the domestic box office.
As per Boxoffice Pro’s long-range predictor (which is usually spot on with its predictions), Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire will open along the lines of its predecessor, Ghostbusters: Afterlife, which collected $44 million in the opening weekend at the domestic box office.
Based on the money Frozen Empire is projected to make in the opening weekend, it is predicted that the movie will end its domestic run between $96 million and $144 million. Again, that will be close to Afterlife’s final domestic numbers of $129 million. However, the international predictions are yet to be revealed.
Will Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire flop or succeed?
Despite facing competition, Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire could prove to be a success based on its early domestic predictions.
Afterlife made $204 million worldwide and was considered to be a success. Sony being happy with its performance greenlit Frozen Empire very quickly. But releasing on March 22, the latest Ghostbusters outing could face a few problems.
First, it competes with other potential blockbusters, including Kung Fu Panda 4, Dune: Part Two, and Godzilla x Kong. Secondly, it’s worth noting that Afterlife did not perform very well in the international markets. It made only $74 million outside the US and Canada. So it’ll be interesting to see whether Frozen Empire changes that.
Furthermore, the budget of Frozen Empire is yet to be revealed. Ultimately, the film’s budget and international performance will determine whether the movie will blow hot or cold.
But despite all this, the domestic predictions do show a potential for success as the film offers another fan-and-family-friendly cinematic attraction that could ride the goodwill of Afterlife before the summer of 2024.
