Conversations about future explorations of the Twilight Universe have been going around since 2016. Eventually, Lionsgate announced that an animated Twilight TV series based on Meyer’s books was in development. If you are wondering when it is coming out, this is what we have discovered.
Here’s all the Twilight TV Series release date information we know so far, and all the details on when it is coming out.
Is there a Twilight TV Series release date?
The Twilight TV Series release date could arrive by 2026 at the earliest.
It was reported in April 2023 that a series based on Stephanie Meyer’s books was in early development at Lionsgate TV. In March 2024, Michael Burns, Lionsgate’s vice chairman, announced that the project would be an animated series. “We’re going to go out with the Twilight series, an animated series, I think there’ll be a lot of interest in that,” Burns said during a Q&A at the Morgan Stanley media conference.
The announcement comes at the heels of the release of Netflix’s Avatar: The Last Airbender, a live-action version of the popular Nickelodeon animated series of the same name. Meanwhile, Warner Bros. Discovery is developing a TV series based on J. K. Rowling’s Harry Potter books, which were also adapted into a successful cinematic frannchise.
At the moment, Lionsgate is looking for a home network for both the Twilight series and a new John Wick show after The Continental. If production begins late this year or in 2025, Twilight TV Series can potentially come out in 2026 at the earliest.
This date is an estimation based on the information we have at the time of this writing.
