Avatar Netflix: Is Toph in the New Live-Action Series?

Fans are wondering if Toph Beifong from the Avatar: The Last Airbender animated series is in the new live-action Avatar Netflix show. Here is all you need to know.

Is Toph in the new Avatar series on Netflix?

No, Toph is not in the new Avatar series on Netflix as of writing. She has not yet shown up in the new Avatar series as it has only adapted the first season in which Toph does not have a role.

The eight-episode first season of Avatar: The Last Airbender on Netflix adapts the first season, also known as Book One: Water, of the original animated series on Nickelodeon. This season sees Aang first attempt to master waterbending before any other element.

As such, Toph Beifong, who is only introduced in the second season of the series, also titled Book Two: Earth, does not make an appearance.

Toph Beifong becomes part of the original animated series’ main cast from the second season’s sixth episode, The Blind Bandit. She is originally a sheltered child who eventually joins Aang, Katara, and Sokka in their quest. The character plays a crucial role in teaching Aang the art of earthbending. She also helps him on his quest to become the new Avatar and defeat Fire Lord Ozai.

Beifong later has a supporting role in the sequel series The Legend of Korra. There, she is the founder of Republic City’s police force and is the mother of Lin and Suyin Beifong.

Will Toph appear in Avatar Season 2 on Netflix?

Toph will presumably appear in Avatar: The Last Airbender Season 2 if it gets greenlit. The second season will very likely adapt Book Two from the original animated series.

Since a second season for Netflix’s Avatar: The Last Airbender is yet to be announced, Toph’s live-action actress has yet to be cast. For now, the fan-favorite earthbender’s live-action debut looks to be pretty far away from happening.

In entertainment elsewhere, Tracker has gotten an early Season 2 renewal. Also, the Spongebob Xbox Series X console has been revealed.
