Fans of Miley Cyrus are wondering whether the “Flowers” singer writes her own music. Here is all you need to know.
Does Miley Cyrus write her own songs, and does she collaborate with other writers?
Yes, Miley Cyrus writes her music. However, she usually has help from other artists, as is the case with many music artists like Madonna and Shania Twain.
Miley Cyrus does write her music, however, she primarily co-writes with other artists. According to Celeb Answers, Miley has co-written songs with other artists since June 2007, which was when she dropped her debut album, “Meet Miley Cyrus.” She co-wrote six of the songs in the album, including “As I Am” with Shelly Peiken and Xandy Barry, and “Good and Broken” and “See You Again” with Antonio Armato and Tim James.
For her second studio album “Breakout,” Miley Cyrus co-wrote eight of the songs including “7 Things,” which peaked at No. 9 on the US Billboard charts at the time.
Her recent song release, “Flowers” from her “Endless Summer Vacation” album was also co-written. Cyrus wrote the song with Gregory Aldae Hein and Michael Pollack.
However, there is one album that Cyrus did not write or co-write the songs for. That album is the extended play “The Time of Our Lives” (though she had writing credits on one track, which was the live version of the Jonas Brothers’ collaboration “Before the Storm”).
It was not until the release of her fifth studio album “Miley Cyrus & Her Dead Petz” that she composed songs on her own. She wrote ten songs on the album by herself, including “Pablow the Blowfish,” “Twinkle Song,” and “I Get So Scared.”
