Where was Dune 2 filmed?
Dune 2 was filmed in Budapest, Jordan, Italy, and Abu Dhabi.
Dune: Part Two was filmed in the following locations between July and December 2022 :
- Budapest, Hungary
- Wadi Rum, Jordan
- Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates
- Altivole, Treviso, Italy
- Memoriale Brion, Altivole, Treviso, Veneto, Italy
Budapest, Jordan, and Abu Dhabi also served as filming locations for the first film, while Italy is a new location used for Dune: Part Two, as per Collider. Collider also states that one notable location absent from Dune 2 is Stadlandet, Norway, which was used in the previous film to create Paul Atreides’ homeworld of Caladan.
Furthermore, Jordan served as the location used to create Arrakis and returned from the first film. Budapest was used as the backdrop for many action sequences and battles depicted in Dune 2, and the deserts of Abu Dhabi were used to create the rock shelters inhabited by the Fremen.
On the other hand, Altivole, Treviso, Italy is a new filming location introduced in Dune: Part Two. As stated by the Dune: Part Two filming locations page of IMDb, the interiors of the Corrino household were shot in this location.
Additionally, another new notable filming location in Dune 2 is Memoriale Brion, a tomb located in Altivole. The IMDb filming locations page for Dune: Part Two states that the Memoriale Brion was used to film exteriors for the film.
