What happened at the end of Code 8 Part 2?
Code 8: Part II ended with Pav, Connor, and Garrett exposing the corrupt Sergeant ‘King’ Kingston. They finally got justice for Tarak and Mina.
The third act saw Connor, Pav, and Garrett uniting against King. They successfully managed to steal his personal K9, which contained the evidence to expose him. But as they reached the tower, Garrett turned on Connor and Pav.
He decided to use Tarak’s video to control King. But things didn’t go in his favor as the corrupt Sergeant stabbed him. He took a battalion of cops to go after Pav and Connor and led an all-out assault on every super-powered being in the tower to remove all the evidence that could incriminate him.
During the attack, Connor managed to hold off a K9. But as he was about to be overdosed with Psyke, Pavani stopped it halfway through an injection. Being a transducer, she took control of the K9 and used it to take down another one, but got injured in the process.
Both Connor and Pav make it out of the tower in a weakened state with the evidence to expose King. Thanks to Garrett and Connor’s final assist, Pav was able to use the K9’s memory log and the TV crew’s camera to publicly broadcast the video of how King od’d Tarak and killed him with his K9.
Following that, the epilogue showed the events three months after King was arrested. Connor reopened the community center in Mina’s memory to offer a safe place for special children like Pav.
The news reported that King was found guilty, but “the corruption runs even deeper”. A new bill will be passed to release millions that would help the Monument Hill community citizens. Furthermore, the usage of robotics such as Guardians and K9s in the neighborhood will be reduced. Lastly, Garrett was shown to be in prison smiling at the news, which stated “reports of an increase of Psyke flowing into Lincoln City from an unknown source.”
Who died in Code 8 Part 2?
Tarak, Mina, Shane, Maev, and multiple super-powered associates of Garrett died in Code 8: Part II.
While all the major characters survived, Pav’s brother Tarak, Mina, and Garrett’s associates, including Shane and Maev, were all killed by the K9 and Guardians that King deployed.
How Code 8 Part 2 sets up Part 3?
The film set up Code 8 Part 3 by hinting at Garrett being involved in selling Psyke despite being imprisoned.
Part II could mark the conclusion of the franchise as every major leading character got their happy ending in it. Connor redeemed himself and was able to create a haven for children like Pav, who was also with him at the end. At the same time, Garrett was happy as he still seemingly found a way to make money by being the anonymous source of Psyke in the market.
But this aspect could further be explored in another movie if Netflix decides to make it happen. Part 3 could also explore the corruption that goes deep into the Lincoln City Police Department. At the same time, it could pit Connor against Garrett once again where he brings the latter down for good and also brings his ways of running Psyke to an end.
