To understand how the Texas oil boom affected the black community, Stapleton examines her family tree and environmental racism. Directed by Iliana Sosa, the third and final episode explores El Paso’s difficult border with Juárez, Mexico, and its rich Mexican past. She analyzes “Nepantla,” the borderland’s liminal quality and first-generation immigrant children’s cultural problems.
