However, it was reported in August 2023 that the crew for season 28 had gone on strike over fair wages and benefits disputes. The International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees or IATSE posted the following message on social media, “The crew of ‘Worst Cooks in America’ are on strike in Long Island City as Bright Road Productions refuses to serve up fair wages and benefits!”
While this was happening, Season 26: Love at First Bite was on air. According to The Hollywood Reporter, IATSE made an unsuccessful attempt to resolve things on the crew’s behalf before the strike. It is unclear if and when the strike ended. If it has, season 26 can potentially premiere sometime between April and August 2024, given the release pattern of previous seasons.
