Why did Taylor Swift snub Celine Dion at the Grammys 2024?
Taylor Swift snubbed Celine Dion due to being emotionally overwhelmed by her Album of the Year Grammy Win.
Swift ended up snubbing Celine Dion as she was very distracted and emotionally overwhelmed upon winning the Album of the Year trophy. She was also busy looking and cheering and congratulating her friends and fellow team members who helped her. As is the case with human emotion, she was lost in the moment and as a result, she did not recognize the legendary Celine Dion as the presenter of her award.
However, social media users did not take this moment very lightly as they took to X (Twitter) to express disappointment in a wide variety of ways. One user even compared the situation to Miley Cyrus being excited over being presented an award from Mariah Carey and claimed that Cyrus had more decency and respect.
However, the air was soon cleared shortly after when a photo surfaced online showing Taylor Swift hugging Celine Dion backstage. A fan even joked on Twitter that Swift’s PR team worked quickly to clear the air. This confirms the notion that Swift’s snub of Celine Dion was not out of spite but simply due to a result of being too lost in the moment to even recognize that she was standing near an iconic singer in her own right at the stage.
However, this was not the first time Celine Dion presented an award to Taylor Swift as she previously presented the Artist of the Year award to Swift at the Billboards Music Awards 2013.
