What happened at the end of True Detective Season 4 Episode 2?
Towards the end, Chief Danvers and Trooper Navarro teamed up to solve the murders of Annie and the scientists, only to find that one of them was still alive.
As the title suggests, Episode 2 began with revealing the Corpsicle of all Tsalal scientists frozen together. Working on the case with Officer Peter Prior, Chief Danvers tries to figure out what made the scientists scared enough to run out in the cold without any clothes. On the other hand, Navarro continues to investigate Annie’s case by looking into Raymond Clark.
Danvers also dives further into investigating him and finds out photos of him being directly connected to Annie. Not only were they secret lovers, but Clark also had the same spiral tattooed on his chest that Annie had on her back.
So to solve the murders of Annie and the scientists, Danvers proposed a temporary team up to Navarro. While considering the offer, Navarro went on to investigate the trailer that Clark had bought for $10,000 to keep his relationship with Annie a secret.
At the trailer, Navarro found the same spiral symbol drawn on the roof along with multiple strange etchings, photos, and handcrafted objects. She called Danvers to the trailer to investigate it. But as soon as she arrives, they get called in by Prior when the Corpsicle begins to melt. It revealed that only five scientists were frozen, with the body of Clark not being present among them. Navarro deduces that Clark was indeed alive!
What’s next for Danvers and Navarro in True Detective Season 4?
In True Detective Season 4 Episode 3, Danvers and Navarro will try to find Raymond Clark, figure out the meaning of the symbol, and why Clark and Annie kept their relationship a secret.
The promo of Episode 3 reveals Danvers and Navarro working together to figure out more details about Clark and Annie’s secret relationship. The promo also teases Navarro possibly getting closer to Clark while Danvers finds an important suspect who knows what happened at Tsalal.
