Lucasfilm is not officially confirmed to be making a Star Wars What If? series as of publishing.
However, according to a reputed but semi-reliable industry insider Daniel RPK, Lucasfilm is currently developing a Star Wars What If? series as part of its slate of upcoming projects. This includes a film starring The Mandalorian & Grogu. However, fans must take this exciting news with a grain of salt and wait for official confirmation from Lucasfilm and Disney on the project.
Despite the lack of confirmation, a Star Wars What If? project would be very exciting for both new and longtime Star Wars fans as the franchise has a lot of rich and interesting stories that are pivotal to the universe’s lore.
With a project like this, Lucasfilm can answer various what-if questions that fans have had over the years, like what if Anakin Skywalker remained a Jedi and did not turn to the dark side to become Darth Vader? Or what if Mace Windu killed Palpatine? Or what if Luke and Leia were found and raised by Vader to become his enforcers?
