Stranger Things Season 5: Is Argyle Returning? Why Isn’t Eduardo Franco Coming Back?

After the recent cast photos of Stranger Things Season 5 hit the internet, fans could not help but notice a glaring absence, Eduardo Franco’s Argyle. Will Jonathan’s best friend from Season 4 be coming back? Here is all you need to know.

Is Argyle returning in Stranger Things season 5?

Unfortunately, Argyle is not confirmed to return for Stranger Things’ fifth and final season.

Eduardo Franco’s Argyle was part of the fourth season’s supporting cast as the best friend and co-worker of Jonathan Byers. Argyle had a prominent role in aiding him, his brother Will, and Mike Wheeler in searching for Eleven after she left them upon realizing the danger her powers possessed and went with Dr. Sam Owens to a secret facility to learn more about her past.

Franco’s Argyle was well-received by fans of the supernatural mystery show thanks to his quirky but likable humor and his chill attitude when dealing with things out of the ordinary and helping Jonathan, Will, and Mike in their quest. Moreover, some fans believe that he was the best character of the fourth season.

Why isn’t Eduardo Franco coming back as Argyle?

Eduardo Franco is not returning as Argyle as the actor was not contacted by the Stranger Things producers and creative team to reprise his role for the fifth and final season.

In a recent appearance on the Steve Varley Show, while promoting his new movie Self-Reliance, Franco revealed that he was appreciative of the concern fans had regarding his absence but stated that he was done after revealing that he did not get a phone call from the creators and producers of the show to reprise his role.

It is possible that Franco’s absence may have to do with the changing nature of storylines. Moreover, it is not really a total surprise that his character is absent as he was very much left behind when the gang left him behind at the pizza place they were at when Eleven had a mental battle with Vecna.

In entertainment elsewhere, here is the Alice and the Vampire Queen trailer. Also, here is the release date for the Michael Jackson biopic Michael.
