This fantasy anime is based on the Japanese light novel series of the same name written by Ryūta Kijima and illustrated by Sando. The plot revolves around Rud, who serves as a shielder or tank in the hero’s party and has a defense stat of 9999. Rud is extremely good at his job, though he doesn’t necessarily raid dungeons for fame and fortune. Instead, he wants to find a cure for his ailing younger sister. After the hero, Kyglas, throws him out of the group, claiming that he doesn’t add any value to the team, Rud encounters a girl who reveals the true nature of his powers to him.

“Rud, a shielder with a defense stat of 9999, serves as a tank for the Hero’s Party as they carry out raids in labyrinths.
