The MCU’s Thunderbolts continues to make waves due to its delay. Since Steven Yeun has dropped out of the film, fans are left to wonder who will be its main villain. Will the movie have multiple bad guys? Here’s all you need to know.
Who could the main villain be in Thunderbolts?
As per rumors, Sentry is set to be the main villain who will take on the Thunderbolts team including Bucky Barnes and Yelena Belova.
Before Steven Yeun left Thunderbolts, his character Sentry was rumored to be the main villain. According to familiar scooper CanWeGetSomeToast, Robert Reynolds aka the Sentry would start as a part of the Thunderbolts lineup but turn into the antagonist later.
He is supposed to be the result of another Super Solider experiment in the film. But through the course of its story, he will turn into his dark alter-ego, the Void, and the Thunderbolts would team up to stop him.
Who are the bad guys in Thunderbolts?
Besides the Sentry, a “high tech militia” group is rumored to be secondary bad guys in Thunderbolts.
The film is set to feature past MCU antagonists including the Winter Solider, US Agent, Red Guardian, Taskmaster, and Ghost, along with Yelena Belova’s Black Widow. But this band of super soldiers and assassins will be turned into antiheroes who will run missions for the CIA director, Valentina Allegra de Fontaine.
But according to a new scoop from familiar Industry insider Daniel RPK’s Paetron, Marvel is currently casting a “high-tech militia” group for the Thunderbolts team to take on. The name of this militia group hasn’t been revealed yet. But it would make sense for the Thunderbolts to battle and take them down before the Sentry goes rogue and turns into the Void in the third act.
However, this rumored narrative has to be taken with a grain of salt until we get official updates from Marvel.
