Marvel Studios just introduced the first official MCU superhero, named Kahhori. But who is she and what are her abilities? Here’s all you need to know about Kahhori in the MCU and whether she will appear in future MCU movies.
Who is Kahhori and what are her powers in the MCU?
Marvel’s What If…? Season 2 episode 6 introduced Kahhori, a new tesseract-powered superhero that belongs to the ancient Mohawk tribe. Her powers include superspeed and telekinesis, among other abilities.
While Marvel announced the arrival of Kahhori back in March 2023, she made her official MCU debut in the 6th What If…? Season 2 episode titled, “What If… Kahhori Reshaped the World?”. In MCU’s dimension 616, Odin hid the Tesseract in Norway on Earth. But an alternate universe saw the Tesseract landing in the sovereign Haudenosaunee Confederacy before the colonization of America.
The impact cracked its shell open and the space stone ended up in a neighboring lake to the home of a Mohawk tribe. It opened a portal to a unique sky world that was powered by the space stone itself. As a result, many people from the Mohawk tribe kept falling into the portal over time and ended up in the sky world. All of them were imbued with new powers and abilities inherited from the Space Stone realm.
The latest person to fall into this world was a courageous young Mohawk girl named Kahhori. But arriving through the gateway, she quickly realized her space stone inherited abilities and proved to be better at using them than everyone else residing there. Her powers include superhuman strength, durability, longevity, telekinesis, portal creation, force-field generation, and elemental manipulation.
While others in the sky world lived in peace and stayed away from the wars of Earth, Kahhori realized the good she could do with her newly acquired abilities. So, she decided to use a portal to get back to Earth and help her fellow tribespeople and motivated all other Skyworld people to join her. That’s how Kahhori reshaped the world and proved to be one of the strongest MCU heroes.
Will Kahhori appear in MCU’s future movies?
While Kahhori is confirmed to be back in more What If…? Season 2 episodes, her appearance in live-action movies isn’t confirmed yet.
Similar to how a variant of Captain Carter showed up in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, fans are now wondering if a Kahhori variant would also make the jump to live action as well. She will certainly return in another What If…? season 2 episode. But as of publishing, she isn’t confirmed to make an appearance in future live-action movies. It will depend on the popularity of the character after What If…? Season 2.
Devery Jacobs voices Kahhori in the series. She is also set to play a different character in Marvel’s live-action Echo series. But if Kahhori were to show up in future projects such as Avengers: The Kang Dynasty or Secret Wars, then Devery Jacobs could continue to play the Kahhori variant from the multiverse.
