Will There Be a Lost in Space Season 4 Release Date & Is It Coming Out?

Created by Irwin Allen, Lost in Space is a science fiction series that predominantly revolves around the Robinson family, human space colonialists whose ship loses its way while traversing through the void. The series serves as a reimagining of the namesake 1965 CBS series, which itself was based on Johann David Wyss’ 1812 novel The Swiss Family Robinson and Del Connell and artist Dan Spiegle’s 1962 Gold Key comic book Space Family Robinson.

Season 1 premiered on April 13, 2018, followed by Season 2 on December 24, 2019, and Season 3 on December 1, 2021. If you are wondering whether there will be a fourth season of Lost in Space, we got you covered.

Here’s all we know about Lost in Space Season 4 and whether or not it’s coming out.

Is there a Lost in Space Season 4 release date?

There is no Lost in Space Season 4 release date as the series ended after the third season.

In March 2020, Netflix greenlit Lost in Space for the third and final season. Showrunner Zack Estrin said in a statement, “From the beginning, we’ve always viewed this particular story of The Robinsons as a trilogy. A three part epic family adventure with a clear beginning, middle and end.”

The statement continued, “It’s also worth noting that, with what these characters go through just trying to survive each episode — if anyone deserves to catch their breath before their next mission — it’s Will, Penny, Judy, Maureen, John, Don West, Dr. Smith… and The Robot. And, of course, Debbie the Chicken. So while this chapter of ‘Lost In Space’ is coming to a rousing conclusion, I’m excited about continuing to explore new stories with my friends at Netflix, and for all of the incredible possibilities that lie ahead.”

It was announced that Estrin had signed a multi-year overall deal with Netflix and later received consulting producer credits on the streaming giant’s adaptation of One Piece. Sadly, Estrin passed away on September 23, 2022, after reportedly suffering cardiac arrest. He was 51 years old.

The cast of Lost in Space includes Molly Parker as Maureen Robinson, Toby Stephens as John Robinson, Maxwell Jenkins as Will Robinson, Taylor Russell as Judy Robinson, Mina Sundwall as Penny Robinson, Ignacio Serricchio as Don West, Parker Posey as June Harris / Zoe Smith, Brian Steele as the Robot, Ajay Friese as Vijay Dhar, and more.

The official synopsis for Lost in Space reads:

“After crash-landing on an alien planet, the Robinson family fights against all odds to survive and escape. But they’re surrounded by hidden dangers.”
