Taylor Swift: Does She Lip Sync in Her Eras Tour?

Fans are wondering if Taylor Swift lip-syncs in her Eras Tour. With lip-syncing becoming a controversial topic, as some artists don’t sing live and simply mime along to a backing track, some wonder if one of the world’s biggest music superstars is also lip-syncing while on tour. Also, does Taylor Swift use autotune and pitch correction? Here’s what we know.

Does Taylor Swift lip sync in her Eras Tour?

For the majority of her performance, Taylor Swift does not lip sync during the Eras Tour. She is very much singing live, as you can tell when in attendance at one of her shows.

However, many of Swift’s songs incorporate a backing track and/or backing singers, which may play during moments of intense dancing and other choreography. Taylor’s live feed drown out this backing track when she sings but, if she stops, the track can be heard momentarily while she performs a dance move.

Fans needn’t worried that Taylor Swift is “cheating” by lip-syncing her entire 3-hour show. Instead, you can simply expect singer to be relying on a backing track and/or singers for a second or two during her more intense performances.

Does Taylor Swift use autotune and pitch correction?

Taylor Swift has been known to occasionally use autotune and pitch correction during past performances. However, it’s mostly been deemed as subtle and in line with what other performers rely on.

It’s worth remembering that some of her songs rely on various vocal effects, which can also be applied during a live performance. If Taylor Swift’s mic suddenly sounds different, it’s because various effects can be applied and removed on a per-song basis, without the need to change microphone.
