With Virgin River Season 5 Part 2 now streaming on Netflix, fans wish to find out if Charmaine, a friend (and ex-girlfriend) of Jack in the series, ends up dying towards the end. Did she die in the novels? Here’s all you need to know about Charmaine’s fate in the live-action series and the books.
Does Charmaine die in Virgin River?
No, Charmaine does not die in Virgin River Season 5 Part 2. She manages to survive, giving birth to twins.
Before Part 2 arrived, many fans theorized that the final two episodes might kill off Charmaine. One of the popular theories on Reddit suggested that the last episode could show her dying after giving birth to her babies. That way, Jack and Mel could adopt the twins and bring a form of closure to the miscarriage storyline from Part 1.
Another Redditor wrote:
“Charmaine is going to die in childbirth allowing Jack and Mel to adopt the twins right? Surely the world’s longest pregnancy has been building up to this.”
But the show ultimately defied the fans who theorized that Charmaine would die. Charmaine went into labor and was able to survive childbirth. She was happy with the twins and plans to raise them. Meanwhile, Mel and Jack’s desire to become parents may be fulfilled in the future.
Is Charmaine killed in the Virgin River books?
No, Charmaine is not killed in the Virgin River novels. Nothing in the books suggests that she perishes. Similar to the show, she is also alive and fine in the book series.
While the Virgin River novels continuously offer plot twists, Charmaine’s death isn’t one of them. Author Robyn Carr used her character well to invigorate drama in the story. But she didn’t kill her off in any of the books.
