No, Maya does not die in the first season of Obliterated on Netflix.
In the final episode, she proved to be the most important member of the squad. Not only did she help Ava and the crew to locate Anastasia, but she also enabled them to find the nuke. It was presumed that Anastasia would have the nuclear explosive device in her grasp. But she made sure that if she were to be caught, then even she wouldn’t be able to stop the bomb. So, it was hidden somewhere that even she didn’t know of.
However, Ava and Maya were already working on a contingency. Backtracking Anastasia’s path, Maya was able to pinpoint exactly where Anastasia had offloaded the nuke, allowing the team to reach the location in time.
Is Maya still alive in Obliterated on Netflix?
Yes, Maya is still alive at the end of Netflix’s Obliterated and we could expect her to return if Season 2 happens.
Enabling her team to reach the Casino at the Plaza Hotel, Maya rigged all the slot machines over there. With all the machines malfunctioning, there was just one that didn’t, and it carried the nuke. When all hopes were lost, Hagerty showed up in grand fashion and defused the nuke.
So, all members of Ava’s team including Maya were able to survive. While the latter didn’t get to be with her crush Chad, she still ended up gaining confidence and becoming one of the most popular girls at the celebration party. Now, Maya is expected to make her return in Obliterated season 2 if it happens!
