Netflix’s latest French series, Blood Coast showcases a gritty and violent crime drama that continues to engage quite a few subscribers. But many viewers wish to understand what happened at the end. So, here are all the answers you’re looking for at the end of Blood Coast season 1.
What happened at the end of Blood Coast?
Towards the end, Ali Saidi goes free while the police arrive at Lyes Benamar’s place to arrest him for corruption and other crimes.
In the final assault on Murillo, Lyes and his team managed to arrest him. Alice Vidal decided not to kill him for what he did to her father. Instead, she decided to let him face legitimate justice. Making that move, Lyes and his team get welcomed back with applause.
But even though Leyes gets the win and the girl (Alice) towards the end, he doesn’t necessarily get a happy ending. Miranda spent the entire season building a case around Ali Saidi. But the latter was ultimately let go due to some obvious corruption involving the DA. So instead of him, Miranda just gets to arrest Lyes for his past illegal activities.
Just as he and the police arrive at Lyes’ doorstep to arrest him, the screen cuts to black right after we see Lyes smile. While it’s implied that Lyes gets arrested, his smile could also mean that he thought of escaping at that moment.
So, Blood Coast season 2 could be about him living as a wanted man while trying to take down Ali Saidi and expose the corruption involving the DA. But whether we get a second season remains to be seen.
Who killed Murillo’s son and the Indian?
Murillo’s son was killed by the Indian. While the latter didn’t let Murillo find out about that, he ultimately paid for his actions by dying at the hands of young goons.
It was revealed that Murillo’s son died in the crossfire when someone attempted to take down Ali Saidi. But ultimately, that someone turned out to be Murillo’s right-hand man, the Indian. He wanted to take over Saidi’s operation but ended up killing Murillo’s son in the process.
He did get what he wanted. But he paid for his sins as his younger henchmen killed him in retaliation for what he did to one of them earlier in the show.
Is Lyes the father of Zoe?
While the results of Lyes’ DNA test weren’t revealed, he is likely the father of Fanny’s daughter, Zoe.
This is a storyline that could also be followed in a potential second season of Blood Coast.
