The ending of A Murder at the End of the World Episode 5 left viewers on a major cliffhanger. After watching the latest episode, fans are eager to know what happened to Darby and who was at the pool. So, here’s all you need to know.
What happened at the end of A Murder at the End of the World Episode 5
Towards the end of the episode, someone sends a Morse-coded message to Darby summoning her near the pool to reveal why Bill had called David.
But as soon as Darby reached the pool area, she felt cold and jumped into hot water. As she was underwater, somebody covered the pool and blocked her exit. This happened after she was attacked earlier in the episode and the attacker told her to stay out of the murder mystery.
Now, Darby has been left fighting for her life. Since she is the leading character, she’d certainly survive in episode 6. But how that happens remains to be a mystery. The person who covered the pool may be playing a prank on her.
But there’s a higher probability that this mysterious person will leave Darby to die. Then as soon as he/she leaves, someone else will step in to save her at the last minute.
Who died in A Murder at the End of the World episode 5?
Episode 5 saw the demise of Alice Braga’s Sian.
Considering that Sian began to help Darby and also became a victim, it’s likely that she wasn’t involved in the deaths of Rohan and Bill. However, the case of her murder is yet to be solved. It happened right when Darby turned her back for a second to bring water for Sian, as someone sneaked in to kill the latter.
Who is the killer at the pool?
Looking at the silhouette of the blurry person, it seemed like David himself was at the pool and tried to kill Darby. But that might not be the case.
Episode 5 did well to put our focus on David as he didn’t answer why Bill had called him. So, he could have sent the morse-coded message to lure Darby into a trap. But since this is an obvious setup to bait the audience, someone else is likely the killer involved with the deaths of Bill, Rohan, and Sian.
After looking at Lee’s alternate passport, one of the theories suggests that the killer could either be just Todd, or both Lee and Todd working in tandem. They might be involved since the killer has to be someone extremely close to Andy. They could be lovers working together to eliminate threats who figured out the truth about their affair. Or it could just be Todd killing people one at a time to save Lee and ruin Andy.
