Following the conclusion of Dancing with the Stars 2023, fans are anxious to know which celebrity and professional dancer couple took home the coveted Len Goodman Mirrorball trophy. Here is who won the mirrorball trophy.
Who won the Len Goodman Mirrorball trophy in Dancing with the Stars 2023?
The winners of the Len Goodman Mirrorball trophy are Xochitl Gomez and Val Chmerkovskiy.
Actress Xochitl Gomez and her professional dance partner Val Chmerkovskiy are the ones who took home the esteemed Len Goodman Mirrorball trophy. This is not surprising as it was predicted that Xochitl Gomez and Val Chmerkovskiy were the fan favorites and had the most likely chance to win due to the former’s impressive fanbase and the latter’s status as the most seasoned dance professional in Season 32.
Gomez received great praise from Judge Bruno Tonioli for her performance, with him calling her a “natural, charismatic performer”. Judge Derek Hough also praised Xochitl and called her “the most charismatic performer” of this season’s Dancing with the Stars.
While this is Xochitl Gomez’s first time winning the Mirrorball trophy, this is Val Chmerkovskiy’s third time. He previously won the trophy twice, once in 2015 with actress and singer Rumer Willis and again with gymnast Laurie Hernandez in 2016.
Prior to the winner being announced, Gomez along with Ariana Madix, Jason Mraz, Charity Lawson, and Alyson Hannigan hit the dance floor for the final time to perform a redemption dance and a freestyle dance with their professional dancing partners.
Xochitl Gomez and Chmerkovskiy were the last dancing pair left in the redemption round and thus closed it out with a foxtrot to “Unconditionally” by Katy Perry. Gomez, who consistently stayed on top of the leaderboard for all the weeks, earned a score of 30.
Gomez and Chmerkovskiy also earned a score of 30 in their freestyle round where they danced to “Que Calor” by District 78.
