At the time of publishing, Jensen Ackles’ Soldier Boy has not been confirmed to make a return in The Boys Season 4. However, it is very possible that the character could return. This is because he survived the events of Season 3 instead of being killed and put away in a high-security prison. Thus, this leaves the possibility that he could eventually escape and return to The Boys and Homelander’s lives in order to exact revenge on them.
Moreover, the actor behind Soldier Boy, Jensen Ackles has also hinted at Soldier Boy’s story not being done in an appearance on the Awards Radar podcast. While he did not give much away about the character’s future, he said the following which seemed to imply that there was at least a bit more story to tell about the character:
“There’s some things out there. I’m not allowed to give anything out, but we’ll just say that Soldier Boy is not dead. Thank God.”
Even though Soldier Boy’s return has not been confirmed outright by Eric Kripke, it would no doubt be exciting for fans to see the character again as Ackles’ performance resonated greatly with them and they would get to see a full-on match/rematch with Antony Starr’s Homelander.
