With Virgin River Season 5 Part 2 hitting Netflix, fans wish to find out whether the show has ended, or will the story continue in future seasons. Here’s all you need to know about Virgin River’s future and any incoming seasons.
Has Netflix’s Virgin River ended after Season 5 Part 2?
No, Netflix’s Virgin River has not ended after Season 5 Part 2.
The first part of Virgin River Season 5 arrived on September 7, 2023, and included 10 episodes. Part 2 contained the final 2 episodes of the season and began streaming on November 30, 2023. But this hasn’t marked the show’s end as it is already confirmed to have another season.
On May 17, 2023, Netflix announced that Virgin River would get its sixth season in the future. The ending of Season 5 also sets it up perfectly. We could have expected Season 6 to come out in late 2024. However, the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes halted its production and probably pushed its release date to 2025.
Will there be more seasons of Virgin River?
Yes, there will be at least one more season of Virgin River, if not more.
So far, only one other season of Virgin River is confirmed to happen after Season 5 Part 2. Showrunner Patrick Sean Smith recently spoke to Deadline and confirmed that Season 6 is expected to begin production in the first half of 2024. He also talked about the next season’s episode count while saying:
“I think we’re probably looking at a 10-episode season moving forward.”
Virgin River season 5 stars Martin Henderson and Alexandra Breckenridge as the leading characters, Jack Sheridan and Melinda Munroe. Apart from them, we also see Tim Matheson as Vernon Mullins, Annette O’Toole as Hope McCrea, Colin Lawrence as John Middleton, Benjamin Hollingsworth as Dan Brady, Lauren Hammersley as Charmaine Roberts, Grayson Maxwell Gurnsey, and Marco Grazzini as Mike Valenzuela. It’ll be interesting to see how everyone returns in future seasons.
