Created by Aaron Korsh and Daniel Arkin, Pearson is a USA Network political-legal drama series that serves as a spin-off to Suits, which initially aired on the same network between 2011 and 2019. The plot follows Jessica Pearson, one of the main characters of the original series, as she becomes entangled in the murky legal and political spheres of Chicago, Illinois.
The series was introduced through a backdoor pilot that aired as the seventh-season finale of Suits on April 25, 2018. Pearson Season 1 premiered on July 17, 2019, aired 10 episodes, and ended on September 18, 2019. If you are wondering whether there will be a second season, we got you covered.
Here’s all we know about Pearson Season 2 and whether or not it’s coming out.
Is there a Pearson Season 2 release date?
There is no Pearson Season 2 release date as the series was canceled after the first season.
In late October 2019, less than two months after the first season finished airing, USA Network canceled Pearson. The decision was likely made due to the poor audience response to Season 1, which garnered a 72% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes but was one of the lowest-rated original scripted productions on the network.
The cast includes Gina Torres as Jessica Pearson, Bethany Joy Lenz as Keri Allen, Morgan Spector as Bobby Novak, Chantel Riley as Angela Cook, Simon Kassianides as Nick D’Amato, Eli Goree as Derrick Mayes, and Isabel Arraiza as Yoli Castillo, and more.
The official synopsis for Pearson reads:
“Powerhouse lawyer Jessica Pearson adjusts to the dirty world of Chicago politics.”
