Spanish journalist and writer for Dolmen Editorial and Twitter user, David Lorao aka @goonielor put out a tweet five days ago where he said that he had news about Lili Reinhart’s casting as Supergirl but that he could not say anything about it.
Then one day before that, he shared on Twitter what seemed to be concept art of Lili Reinhart as Supergirl being reportedly studied at Warner Bros offices. He also revealed that DC Studios co-CEO James Gunn was reportedly evaluating the possibility of Reinhart as Supergirl in a very positive manner. He also mentioned that the final decision to cast Reinhart as Supergirl was now in James Gunn’s hands and that fans must wait.
However, despite this exciting rumor, fans should take this with a huge grain of salt and wait for official confirmation from James Gunn for official casting news.
Although Lili Reinhart has not been confirmed as Supergirl, she would no doubt be an excellent fit for the role thanks to her performances in Riverdale and Look Both Ways where she displayed a personality remarkably similar to Supergirl’s portrayal in the comics. Moreover, in the latter film, she also co-starred with David Corenswet, who is confirmed as Superman for James Gunn’s DCU and displayed great chemistry with him.
